I’m currently finishing up two research projects:

• Sampling the Shtetl: Reinventing American Jewish Identity Through Hip-Hop
• the Philadelphia Sher Project

And developing several more:

• Jewish Sound at the Urban Periphery, which attempts to understand the historical relationship between Jewish urban mobility and changing practices of Jewish music in postwar Philadelphia,
• a sound studies/acoustic ecology-oriented project on the Chicago transit system in conjunction with my partner Matt Meltzer, transit blogger extraordinaire, and
• a dissertation on music education in Chicago
